I can see the light!

This week is our final week of class in CIS 131, Thank God. This week we have done two labs and reviewed for our final on Monday. It should be a real hoot, i can't wait. We have spent some time in Microsoft Excel and Word so hopefully it will all pay off. As to Mr.Casey it was fun getting to know you and maybe i'll see you down the road sometime.

Myspace A Killer!

This past week we discussed an article in the paper where a mother and her daughter made up a fake myspace profile together. They requested to be friends we another girl to whom the daughter knew. They became real close friends over the internet but that wasn't the mother and daughters purpose of making the account. They wanted to find out if the girl was bashing the other girl.Eventually the mother and daughter started bashing there close cyber friend. The end result was the girl killing herself over the bashing that she was recieving on myspace. Now to me this sounds about half stupid, give me a break killing yourself over a friend on myspace...The women and her daughter weren't held responsible because they never broke any law, but i hope they feel the guilt.

The fight against stealing music

In class on monday the 5th of Nov. our class discussed the problems with stealing music off the internet. Recently the music industry went to UofO and asked them if they could get information on the students who attend the college that have been downloading music illegally and the University said no.This was because they couldn't prove who was stealing the music from the computers. This is a major turning point for the music industry and the college. We will see what happens.
